A WORLD IN A SUITCASE

Pepper Pot Centre

A ten week WAES funded project.
The aim of the sessions was for learners through sharing stories and art-work to gain a perspective about their own lives and  of others.
Learners recalled stories of what is important to them. Through open discussion learners explored  Attitudes and Turning Points over the decade, looking at race, gender, religion, British Values family, abuse, respect and more."We are free as a group to discuss what is going on," a learner.
Learners' feedback from the sessions at the Pepper Pot - in their own words.

Norma
"It was very inspirational!
I liked that you wasn’t forced to do anything that you didn’t want to do. I think it is good for us to be able to express ourselves. We talk to people and find out what’s going on. It was good".
Maria
"It gave me another aspect of the people I normally see and didn’t know about really".
Eunice
"
I feel like I’m in a happy village. I know that if you say something here they don’t put you down. They just listen, so you are in harmony with everybody. Everybody treat me well and I’m very very happy coming here".
Edwin
"I enjoyed talking and confirming what was true in the past and what’s happening now".
Quotes from sessions at the Pepper Pot Centre.
